Mar 12, 10 at 10:21 pmThis is a very old, outdated list. It mentions a subscription to The Teaching Home magazine in several places. This magazine has not been published since early 2001.

Mar 24, 10 at 6:02 pmI was involved with Northern Nevada Home Schools years ago. We were an HSLDA-listed organization. When we decided not to require statements of faith because we had established ourselves as an inclusive organization, we were dropped from the listing.
Of course, the cover story was that we fell below the minimum number of HSLDA members, which was true. But other organizations, which did not have the minimum number continued to be listed. Some of those didn’t even have that number of members, much less HSLDA members. The difference is that they were stated to be religious groups.
HSLDA professes to be a homeschool organization, but they really are a political organization which uses homeschoolers to achieve their political goals.

Mar 24, 10 at 6:05 pmI forgot to mention that the listing or non-listing is kind of moot now, since Northern Nevada Home Schools is gradually slipping into obscurity, but the point remains that the delisting at the time was specifically due to lack of religious focus.
